What Is Sex Educator Certification?
Sex educator certification is professional training that provides knowledge and skills to proficiently educate a variety of audiences and in multiple settings. Some of these settings include medical, mental health/clinical, film and theater, community, and advocacy work.
Sex Educators can teach everything from sexual health and function to personal empowerment, advocacy, relationships and intimacy skills, effective communication, accessibility, and more.
ISEE provides holistic, comprehensive sex education training online, both on-demand and live-streaming, with occasional options to attend in-person if desired. ISEE's Certified Holistic Sex Educator® Training offers approxinately 200 hours/ CEs. When you are complete you will be awarded the right to use the CHSE credential after your name.

ISEE is an approved provider of continuing education (CEs) with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Should you desire AASECT Certification, the Certified Holistic Sex Educator® training program offers all educational hours (CEs) required for application to AASECT as well as AASECT Certified Sex Educator Supervision hours*.
Certified Holistic Sex Educator® Training Program Overview
How? Online classes both on-demand (self-paced), and live-streaming. You will have 2 years to complete all live-streaming classes, which are offered multiple times per year for your scheduling flexibility. We will train you to either improve the sex education you are already practicing or to create spaces and opportunties to educate and/or coach.
Who? Educators, health care aides, advocates, activitist, coaches, bloggers, influencers, doulas, midwives, film & theater professionals, healthcare professionals, researchers, writers, and anyone who wants to provide sexuality education in clinical, educational, entertaiment or community settings.
When? Start any time. Enrollment happens throughout the year.
How to Become a Certified Sex Educator
Step 1. Begin with a bachelor's degree in any field. Education or public health is ideal.
Step 2: Complete Specialized Sexuality Education Training
Professionals who want to become sex educators pursue comprehesive training with qualified, credentialed professionals. Sex Educator training programs include core knowledge in human sexuality as well as training-of-trainers skills development. ISEE is one such program, and is widely recognized as one of the very top programs of its kind due to its exceptional academic standards, focus on inclusivity and representation of all, and the excellence of its faculty.
Step 3: Work Experience

Step 4: Professional Certification
Students who complete ISEE's Certified Holistic Sex Educator® Program are fully certified as Holistic Sex Educators® (CHSE) upon graduation from the program and are prepared to teach in multiple capacities. Professionals who meet eligibility requirements can also apply for certification through AASECT*. ISEE offers all CE hours required to apply to AASECT as well as Supervision with AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator Supervisors.

Sex therapists work with issues such as sexual dysfunction, recovering from infidelity, desire discrepancy in couples, compulsive sexual behavior, reframing sex in later life, sex with a disability, communcation problems, coming out issues, and more.

How to Become a Certified Sex Therapist
Step 1. Begin with a Master's degree or higher in applied psychology such as clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, etc.
Step 2: Complete Specialized Sexuality Education Training
Professionals who want to become sex therapists pursue comprehesive training with qualified, credentialed professionals. Sex Therapy training programs include core knowledge in human sexuality as well as sex therapy skills development. ISEE is one such program, and is widely recognized as one of the very top programs of its kind due to its exceptional academic standards, focus on inclusivity and representation of all, and the excellence of its faculty.

Professionals who meet eligibility requirements can also apply for certification through AASECT*.
